"Jesus Rules"
opens in El Cajon
It was eight
years ago when Rod Jeter sold his "Jesus Rules" products from a
kiosk in the Parkway Plaza Mall in El Cajon.
That venture
ended after two months when the entrepreneur was faced with his rent being
tripled. For several years he sold real estate, but with that industry
experiencing its slowdown, heıs gone back to retail — this time opening a
1,000-square-foot store in the same El Cajon shopping center, in front of JC
Penny.
Jeter has
his ³Jesus Rules² trademarked and the company incorporated. The store opened
Nov. 17 and business is good.
³Itıs paying
for itself,² he said just before Christmas. ³Weıre not really making money, but
itıs looking good. The plan is to open two more stores before next Christmas.²
The ³Jesus
Rules² logo is on all the store products — menıs and womenıs apparel,
including dress shirts, jackets, outerwear, hoodies, pullovers, tank tops,
shirts, ballcaps, and an extensive childrenıs collection, plus gift sets and
jewelry.
Jeter said
the response from shoppers has been favorable. ³Some are really excited and
want to come in and pray for me and the store,² he said.
³Weıre a new
store for the Christian community,² he added. ³I hear people say Jesus Rulesı
all day long. Itıs nice to be part of that..²
