LENGTH OF SERVICE:  Director: one month, Program Supervisor: 12 years

 

WHAT DOES THE ORGANIZATION DO? Teen Challenge is a Christ-centered organization which manifests the love of God to those caught in the ravages of drug and alcohol abuse. Established in Southern California in 1963, the program has developed an exhaustive network of services from crisis counseling to long-term rehabilitation. All services are offered without a fee.

 

YOUR PRIMARY DUTIES: Supervise staff and volunteers, plan, organize, coordinate all ongoing special fundraising activities, ministry operations and outreaches. Direct the centerıs financial planning and accounting practices.

 

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO ACCOMPLISH? To expand our menıs center from 50 to 75 men, to aquire a separate facility for the learning center and to open a local womenıs center.

 

WHAT ARE YOU BEST KNOWN FOR?   Working with people who have life controlling problems.

 

WHERE DO YOU FEEL THE LORD IS LEADING THE ORGANIZATION? To establish more Teen Challenge centers and to continually reach people with the gospel.

 

WHAT IS FRUSTRATING TO YOU? When I hear people say they donıt believe in God. That there is no hope for the drug addict who canıt be changed.

 

WHAT DO YOU  ENJOY MOST IN YOUR POSITION? Seeing people come through the front doors feeling like their is no hope. Then after one year to see them walk back out with a purpose, a future, and become productive citizens.

 

HOW CAN PEOPLE PRAY FOR YOU OR YOUR ORGANIZATION?  That our doors remain open and that lives continue to be.

 

IN WHAT CAPACITY CAN VOLUNTEERS SERVE? Volunteer to help kids at our learning center with their homework.

 

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY?  Wife Joyce, 2 adult sons, 1 adult daughter and an 8 year old daughter.

 

WHERE IS YOUR HOME CHURCH?  Member of and attended San Diego First Assembly of God for 13 years.

 

IS THERE A SIGNIFICANT BOOK? Godıs Armor Bearer by Terry Nance.

 

A FAVORITE SCRIPTURE? Proverbs 3:5,6 and Psalms 91:1,2.
