Campaign launched urging exit from public schools in state¬Ý

Parents and former public school teachers are urging California parents to remove their children from public schools in order to protect them from new sexual indoctrination laws.¬Ý

At a Los Angeles news conference, Campaign for Children and Families (CCF) kicked off a statewide campaign in mid-February for parents to exit the government school system. In light of the new sexual indoctrination laws, SB 777 and AB 394, CCF has launched RescueYourChild.org, which shows parents how to do whatever it takes to either homeschool or enroll their children in church-run schools.¬Ý

SB 777 functionally requires public school instructional materials and school-sponsored activities to positively portray cross-dressing, sex-change operations, homosexual ’Äúmarriages,’Äù and all aspects of homosexuality and bisexuality, including so-called ’Äúgay history.’Äù¬Ý

AB 394 requires public schools to distribute controversial material to teachers, students, and parents which promotes transsexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality, all under the guise of ’Äúanti-harassment’Äù training.¬Ý

’ÄúWhy are parents concerned? What will the implementation look like?’Äù asked Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families, a leading West Coast pro-family organization, at¬Ýthe Feb. 11¬Ýnews conference. ’ÄúImagine a teacher saying, ’ÄòClass, for our contemporary social studies non-discrimination bias component, we have a special speaker today. He will share his amazing story of growing up as a male trapped in a woman’Äôs body.’Äô This is the type of gender-bending education which students may have to endure unless their parents rescue them from the increasingly negative public school environment.’Äù

¬Ý’ÄúSB 777 and AB 394 became law on Jan. 1,’Äù said Thomasson, ’Äúbut laws usually take some time to get through the whole system. We expect that every public school in California will have these sexual indoctrination laws in force within the next year to two years. Parents can’Äôt be in denial. Parents can’Äôt say, ’ÄòIf I don’Äôt see it, it’Äôs not there.’Äô It’Äôs there. And the parents are beginning to see it. They’Äôve got to rescue their child from sexual indoctrination. There is a solution ’Äì private school, home school, church school.’Äù

Veteran public school teacher Nadine Williams of Torrance said the sexual indoctrination laws have motivated her to keep her grandchildren out of the public schools that she used to support. Former school board trustee Judy Ahrens said she’Äôs been standing for public education, but with SB 777 and AB 394 she must reject public schools in favor of children’Äôs innocence.¬Ý

Single mother Caron Strong of Los Angeles is concerned how her public-school daughter will be affected by the new sexual indoctrination laws. ’ÄúI’Äôm going to homeschool my daughter,’Äù announced Strong at the news conference.¬Ý

’ÄúIt’Äôs a commitment to my child that, regardless of the circumstances, I can’Äôt back away from,’Äù Strong said. ’ÄúI have to make this work. And I know that I’Äôm going to make this work, because I will make this work for the sake of my child.’Äù

Also speaking at the news conference were parents Anthony and Yvette Whitcher of Los Alamitos, and parent Marty Gobel of Laguna Hills, who are removing their children from the government schools. These parents have hope of better education through turn-key curriculum programs such as Alpha Omega Publications, CLASS, or Bob Jones University Press, all of which were represented at the news conference.

’ÄúThe CLASS homeschooling program’Äôs most expensive tuition for a high-school level, full-service plan, where we do the grading, provide report cards, transfers, and all of that, works out to about $60 a month for a nine-month school year, about $550,’Äù said Mark Beuligmann, administrative director of CLASS. ’ÄúThat’Äôs not $10,000. And people do this with us all the time.’Äù¬Ý¬Ý

Beuligman also said CLASS homeschooling can be done for as little as $40 a month for students from second through eighth grades.¬Ý¬Ý

¬Ý’ÄúFor those parents who are not able to homeschool, most private Christian schools have financial aid available to help parents out,’Äù said Dr. David Baker, a former public school district principal and administrator and now head of Capistrano Valley Christian Schools. ’ÄúParents often have to prioritize what are the most important things in their lives. Parents would give up purchasing new cars or going on expensive vacations. So their children come first in their lives. It is possible to homeschool or enter into a relationship with a Christian school.’Äù

’ÄúOur school, NAUMS, a blend of traditional school and also home school, is at least half the cost of a traditional private school,’Äù said Joseph Rispoli, a former public school teacher who runs a National University-Model School in Tustin. ’ÄúSo there are other alternatives. And we believe that it is the responsibility of the parent to make those sacrifices. What are they investing in? Their children. You only get one shot with your kids, and now’Äôs the time to do that.’Äù

¬Ý’ÄúWe help churches plant homeschool cooperatives,’Äù said Heidi St. John of First Class Homeschool Ministries. ’ÄúWe have a proven program that any church can put into their ministry. Parents come one day a week and offer classes to the children, therefore building a community of homeschoolers. It fosters relationship and encourages homeschooling all the way through high school.’Äù¬Ý¬Ý

Thomasson concluded the news conference, saying, ’ÄúThere are a lot of parents who are concerned about these new laws. They’Äôre calling and asking how they can homeschool. They’Äôre calling private schools.¬ÝThey’Äôre calling church schools. They’Äôre getting ready to exit the dysfunctional, sexually indoctrinating public school system.¬Ý

’ÄúI was public-school educated my entire life. My mother and grandmother were public school teachers. I was a public school advocate for many years, but I can no longer advocate that any child go into the public schools because they will be sexually indoctrinated once these laws hit the classroom.’Äù
