Springing Into Outreach
As we enter the spring season, the opportunities for outreach increase. Of course, we should always be reaching out to those around us. That’s what makes us fruitful soul winners. As the weather warms and events around the county take place, the people come out and play. Every time you participate in an outreach, it becomes a time of training for you. You will always learn something when you share your faith.
This summer we will have many
weekends available for you to tap into. I will give you the dates in the
following month. For now, I would like to focus on what God is providing for us
this month. Easter weekend is always a very promising time for souls,
especially this year because “The Passion of the Christ” has been
out for a while. Those that saw it I’m sure will still have the
impression of Christ’s suffering on their minds. If your church is
preparing a special sermon on Easter Sunday, expect God to draw them in.
It’s important for you to invite any family member or friend who might go
to the service. God is moving now and we need to be bo1d and step out. Easter
Saturday is also a very crucial day. Ask your pastor if he has any flyers for
you to pass out inviting people to Easter Sunday. If you get some, take some
time and hand them out.
On April 10, there will be a
Passion March in Poway. Christian Life Assembly sponsors it, but everyone is
welcome. It begins at the Washington Mutual parking lot on Poway Road at 10
a.m. and will end at the Creekside Plaza shopping center, a1so on Poway Road at
about 12:30 p.m. We will then have lunch as a group in one of the restaurants.
Plan to meet by 9 a.m. to prepare for the march. There will be many that will
be dressed in Hebrew attire, so you are welcome to also come dressed up. Every
year we have excellent response from those driving by. If you have had a hard
time sharing your faith with the lost, this would be a great time for you to
get started. All you have to do is walk with the group in support of what we
are representing — Jesus’ passion.
Another outreach that we are
doing is on Earth Day in Balboa Park on Sunday, Apri1 25. Every year we
minister to hundreds walking around. There are several thousands who attend the
event each year. The event begins at 10 a.m. and ends about 5 p.m. I spend part
of my day helping at the pro-life booth. They usually draw a lot of people
under conviction. I praise God for the stand our pro-life team takes each year.
If you have good gospel tracts, bring them and get them out. You can go through
2-300 quickly. Begin to pray now for God to open the hearts of many that will
be there. You might also try to get there earlier in the day rather than later
for the parking becomes a problem. There is a big parking lot across the street
but by the middle of the day it also gets rather full. I hope to see you there.
I’m sure there are many
of you who have been thinking of going out and joining a team for outreach year
after year and somehow you become distracted and never do. With some it becomes
a fear problem. Keep in mind the only way you will ever overcome that fear is
by facing it. You will have a group of people who will always be with you and
will help you overcome your fears if you team up with us this year. I
guarantee, you will be so happy after the outreach and if you continue to join
us throughout the summer, you will be so confident that by the fall season,
you’ll continue to witness on your own. You must step out. We will
provide the opportunity for you but you must tap in.
