 Up Close and Personal

Introducing... Marvyn Murray

Technical Assistance Program (TAP)

POSITION: Vice President - Communications

PHONE:  619-579-2330   LENGTH OF SERVICE:  15 years

WHAT DOES THE ORGANIZATION DO? TAP is a non-profit organization staffed with all volunteers who repair/clean donated equipment/telephones. This equipment is installed, along with new equipment, in Christian organizations around the world.

YOUR PRIMARY DUTIES:  Manage, install and program equipment, and train the organizationıs staff.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO ACCOMPLISH? To continue serving the Lord by helping Christian organizations so they can accomplish their tasks more easily. To train new volunteers to carry on this vital work until the Lord returns.

WHAT ARE YOU BEST KNOWN FOR?  Programming several telephone systems, specializing in one brand. Our volunteers have come from various trades- housewives, insurance salesmen, firemen, gardeners, etc. as well as retired telephone employees, that are trained by our current staff and make up our ALL VOLUNTEER ministry. We provide as economical telephone/voice mails systems as possible for each Christian ministry we serve. We also provide the follow-up services as needed.

WHERE DO YOU FEEL THE LORD IS LEADING THE ORGANIZATION?  Serving the Lord until He returns. With new, younger volunteers we will be able to do this.

WHAT DO YOU  ENJOY MOST IN YOUR POSITION?  Meeting other servants of God at the various organizations that we serve and seeing what a diverse system God has put together.  We are all important.

HOW CAN PEOPLE PRAY FOR YOU OR YOUR ORGANIZATION?  For safety of our volunteers as we travel and work at the various projects.

IN WHAT CAPACITY CAN VOLUNTEERS SERVE?  By lifting up our ministry in prayer, by financially supporting our work. By joining us at our warehouse on Monday and Tuesday morning to clean equipment, do office work, repair telephones, etc. NO experience is necessary.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY?  I am married and have two sons and two grandchildren.

WHERE IS YOUR HOME CHURCH?   I attend church in Chula Vista where I am the church treasurer. I also serve on the Board of Trustees.
