Make A Memory!
This summer, make one of your vacation days something
for just the two of you! Make a memory. Just 24 hours away can be a way to
fan the flame of passion and romance. Consider these options:
Honeymoon
Repeat: Go back to the place you took your first honeymoon and do it
all over again. Go to the same shops, do the same activities, or add in a
few new ones. The number one reason couples who have already filed for divorce
but then don’t go through with it but rather stay and rekindle romance
is that they realize how much they have already invested in the relationship.
Remind yourself of how and why you first fell in love.
Vow
Renewal: Arrange a private ceremony with a pastor, throw a bash for
all your friends and family, or plan a “destination wedding” and
bring those closest to you on a cruise or to the islands for an intimate ceremony.
Say “I do” all over again.
Do
a dream date: Splurge on a hot air balloon, rent a boat and spend the night
on the sea, go someplace out of the way like a lighthouse. Think outside the
box. Bring the “happily ever after” to life by living out a storybook
dream: ride in a carriage or spend the night in a castle (there’s even
a castle in Colorado Springs owned by the Navigators ministry!).
Do
nothing, but do it someplace exotic: Go to Hawaii, the Caribbean, or a mountain
cabin and do absolutely nothing but sleep, eat and sex. (Okay, maybe read
a little.) Go and just unplug and relax. Your sex life might just sizzle because
you are available and rested!
This
summer, don’t just pack the kids in the van and see the sights, pack
a little something in a suitcase, leave the kids with grandma and make a memory
for just you two!
