Annual Homebuyers Fair slated June 7
Each
year across the United States, local communities have gathered during the
first week in June to celebrate National Homeownership Week. This event is free of cost to the general
public.
Faith
Based Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit tax-exempt community
based organization based in Oceanside, pioneers the efforts for the residents
of North San Diego County to celebrate National Homeownership Week in their
own back yard at Palomar College in San Marcos. FBCDC will host the 4th Annual
North County Homebuyers Fair on Saturday, June 7, 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. The
program represents a public and private partnership between the nonprofit,
the business community and the cities of Vista, Oceanside, San Marcos, Escondido,
and the County of San Diego. Those
attending the event will be eligible to enter a drawing to win $2,500 toward
the down payment for a home.
The
one-day event brings together on one site, real estate professionals, bankers,
mortgage companies, credit counselors and representatives from the various
housing departments of the North County communities with resources to help
educate first time homebuyers on how to realize their dream of homeownership.
The
North County Homebuyers Fair will again include the very popular “How
to find Money at City Hall” workshop which features presentations from
the local housing department staffs.
FBCDC
continues to pursue its commitment each year to assist the residents of North
County to achieve their dream of homeownership through increased access to
resources through education and knowledge. Sponsorship opportunities are still
available. For more information, call (760) 435-0600.
