Younger Americans
taking stronger
pro-life stance
According
to a recent UCLA poll, young Americans are increasingly pro-life.
The
results of the study showed that only a small majority of college students
still thinks abortion should be legal. These figures are down from 67 percent
10 years ago. Kelly Kroll, of American Collegians for Life, said young people
now take the issue more personally.
“We
have never lived in a world where abortion was illegal,” said Kroll.
“I think more and more young people are realizing that not only are
abortions happening every day, but abortions were happening when they were
conceived and that they very easily could have been aborted.”
Experts
say one reason for the shift in opinion is that pro-life groups have effectively
changed the public debate to the rights of the preborn.
