 Pastor's Heart
This Easter, what does the message of the cross mean to you?

Dr. James B. Harrison, Pastor
Visions of God Christian Fellowship, Spring Valley:

My grandfather gave me a picture of the cross when I was young. That picture helped me to learn the real death, burial, and resurrection message of the cross.
Concerning Jesus‚ death; He was acquainted with all our sorrows and pains. He bore all sins, and every spiritual, psychological, and
physical disease (dis-ease) imaginable.
Concerning Jesus‚ burial; He literally became the embodiment of our sins, spirit, soul, and body. He buried our sin, to be remembered no more.
Concerning Jesus‚ resurrection; He gives us life, joy, peace, righteousness, purpose, and a Way to make it through life's situations. He gives us miracles, hope, faith, and attributes that cause us to partake of His divine nature. God‚s love is continual.
"He died to deliver us. He rose to keep us."
I know the message of the cross is true, because He lives in my heart.

Does He live in yours?

Dr. Orville Hiepler, Pastor
Community Lutheran Church, Oceanside:

An ornament? "Yes." Is it more than that? "Yes." I like to wear it
on my suit coat as jewelry! "No." Maybe a testimony? "Yes," to say to the world "He died for me." My lapel cross says "He paid." Whew!
What a cost! He left His Heavenly home, He left the perfection of
Paradise, and He left the right side of the Father. What for? He
demonstrates that God is the "Lavish Giver." "How great is that love the Father has lavished on us, that we be called children of God"
1 John 3:1.
Yes, the privileges to be a child of the highest King and King of Kings. His blood shed on the Cross of Calvary to atone for my inequities ò now I can stand in God's presence not perfect but perfectly cleansed in the righteousness of Christ.
It's fun to watch children play follow the leader. They do the silliest things if the leader does it. Will you do the silliest things in the eye of the world ò give up all ò for Him? He will give you back many fold.
