Gay
gatherings in San Diego protested
The
local chapter of Concerned Women for America of California has joined a
Hillcrest man in voicing concern about an event in San Diego on April 30 and
May 1.
The
organization noted that on Friday, April 30, a “Family OUTing” will
kick off San Diego Youth Pride’s “Adventures of Superqueer,”
with a festival to be held on Saturday, May 1. The events encourage coming
“out” in the homosexual lifestyle and offer speakers and materials
supporting the normalization of homosexual behavior.
The
“Adventures of Superqueer” involves a mix of adults and children.
The flier indicates it is intended for “youth” ages 14-24. An
obvious concern is that age 24 is well above the age of consent, and there will
be a mixture of very young and older “youth” at the adult lesbian,
gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) center in San Diego (located in Hillcrest)
for these events. Organizers are apparently aware of this potential risk, as the
flier for the event states, “One adult guest permitted per youth.”
The exception to this rule is the family “OUTing” where family
members are encouraged to “come out” together and the whole
“community” is encouraged to attend with “no age
restriction.”
In
addition, various LGBT performers and speakers will be on hand, CWA noted. In
one exception to the LGBT theme, the “Adventures of Superqueer”
also includes a performance by the Carlsbad High School Lancer Dancers on the
afternoon of May 1.
“We
have been unable to verify with the superintendent of the Carlsbad Unified
School District that parents were adequately notified of the type of event in
which their teens will be participating or whether they were asked to provide consent,” CWA said in its
announcement. “It is likely there will be displays of same-sex behavior.
In addition, a ‘Youth Drag Show’ follows the Lancer Dancers later
in the program.”
James
Hartline, a former homosexual who still lives in the area, reported that a
counter-event was scheduled for Friday, April 30, at 5 p.m. at Calvary Temple
Assembly of God, just blocks from the “OUTcoming.”
“We
will be having a two-day outreach at the church in response to the homosexual
plan and are asking all prayer warriors to come to the church to intercede not
only for the kids, but our city,” Hartline said.
“We
are asking all musicians to come and perform at the church. We need Bibles to
hand out to the kids, as well as water bottles and food. Additionally, we need
youth teams from various churches to come and witness to the kids on the
streets and invite them into the church to hear the Word of God
preached.”
Hartline
also noted another event on July 31 at the San Diego Sports Arena.
“The San Diego Sports Arena earns the vast majority
of its income marketing its venue to families with small children. Most of its
events allow free admission to children under 2 years of age if they sit on
their parents laps. However, the San Diego Sports Arena cares nothing about
protecting the children of San Diego,” Hartline said. “On July 31,
the staff of the Sports Arena have booked ‘Circuit Daze,’ a gay
all-night party sponsored by several porn companies. Nearly 8,000 homosexual
men, after attending the obscene gay pride parade in San Diego, will attend the
Sports Arena event, which lasts from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Many will be under
the influence of drugs at this event. Some may even engage in obscene behavior
and sex in the parking lot. This event is dangerous to the Point Loma
neighborhood where the arena is located. Advertisements distributed by the
Powerhouse-promotions.com company producing the event contain actual naked gay
porn stars.”
James
Hartline said he can be reached for more information at (619) 645-4867.
“Based upon my knowledge of being at these events in
my former homosexual life, I can tell you that rampant drug use and sexual
activity occurs at these events. If this event goes forward, it’s a slap
in the face to all families in San Diego. A boycott of the arena should
occur.”
