Known
as Trip C — or Chris Crazy For Christ — Chris Lang is
a true servant. Ministering in his own special way, through gospel
rap, Chris’ hope is to win souls back to the Father. In a
style that appeals to souls on the street as well as committed young
Christians, Trip C’s passion for Christ shines.
Lang
grew up on the streets of Compton. At a young age, he became a decorated
gang member and street pharmacist. While working in the underground
community, he developed his talent for reality rap, not knowing
that the Lord had future plans for his craft.
In
the summer of 1997, Lang’s life was forever changed. While
recovering from a severe car crash, Chris began to examine his life.
A devoted and patient pastor in 29 Palms led Chris to the Lord,
and since then he has never looked back. That transformation was
marked by the new birth of Trip C.
In order to completely remove himself from his old life, Chris
knew he would have to change his environment. The Lord led him to
the city of Oceanside and the leadership of Faith Temple Christian
Center. He now resides in San Marcos.
Trip
C vowed never again to produce lyrics that kill. Instead, he has
created songs that uplift and lead souls to Christ. As a busy father
of five young children, Chris works a full time job as well as being
involved in his music ministry. It is his dream, however, to move
into full time ministry through music.
With
the hope of bringing other Christian artists’ music to the
public, Trip C has launched his own record label known as All For
Jesus Records. He is also responsible for the distribution of all
records produced. It is through this label Trip C’s debut
project is released. “The New School Testament” is the
first gospel rap C.D. by this talented young artist. It features
20 songs and skits written by Trip C.
In
a style that rivals conventional rap artists, Trip C gets right
to the heart of the message with “The Calling Intro.”
From “Death to Life” chronicles Trip C’s transformation
from bondage to evil to the life of Christ. “Set free from
curse, not rolling up to church in the back of a hearse.”
“The
Apostle” preaches about taking the word to the street like
our Savior did. “Never Going Back” declares in profound
lyrics how the artist is committed to his life in Christ. Excellent
music and arrangement give the entire C.D. polish and professionalism.
“Do
You Know” features the talents of Grapetree recording artist
Crow. Then changing gears, “Where You Going To” features
an angelic chorus accompanied by a beautiful string section.
Other
highlights include “GDBS” — also known as “God
Don’t Bless Sin” — and the soulful “I Love
You Lord” featuring the Faith Temple Worship Team.
Trip
C’s debut release possesses an ominous musical style that
draws the audience in and compels you to listen to the lyrics. “The
New School Testament” can be purchased at Christian bookstores
throughout San Diego County or through www.afjrecords.com.
