LENGTH OF SERVICE: For the past five years, I have spent
many hours in study, prayer, and reflection to gain a clearer understanding
of the cultural, physical, psychological,
and social aspects of homosexuality. I decided in January,
2003 to start a PFOX Chapter in San Diego.
WHAT DOES THE ORGANIZATION DO? PFOX is a non-denominational,
Christian based, non-partisan, national organization. The purpose
of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays is to support the family
and friends of those struggling with same-sex attraction. PFOX educates
and offers hope for recovery through sound counsel, and provides
strategies on how to restore families affected by homosexuality
through unconditional love; and encourages and defends those who
desire to leave the gay lifestyle. PFOX works with the major national
ex-gay organizations and believes that active participation in PFOX
activities promotes healing and is productive for the community.
YOUR PRIMARY DUTIES: My primary duties are responding
to others needing hope and encouragement in dealing with homosexual
issues, preparing the monthly agenda, facilitating the meetings,
and keeping abreast of the latest scientific facts.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO ACCOMPLISH?I want the whole world
to know that it is possible for persons with a homosexual inclination
to transition out of homosexuality, and that they will always be
loved regardless of their choice. I would like to see sexual re-orientation
added to every discrimination clause that lists sexual orientation.
PFOX believes that all people should be treated with dignity. We
respect the opinions of others, even if they disagree with us.
WHERE DO YOU FEEL THE LORD IS LEADING THE ORGANIZATION? Jesus Christ tells us in
Matthew 19:26 “With men this is impossible; but with God all
things are possible.” I hope and pray that Our Lord will always
guide the members of PFOX to be a light for His Truth. His hand is in the scientific evidence proving that change
is possible. Jesus Christ is the cure for all of our disorders,
if we trust in Him.
WHAT IS FRUSTRATING TO YOU? Our children are being taught
in schools nationwide to be tolerant of the gay agenda which promotes
gay and lesbian sex, (some sessions even tell them how) and masturbation;
for them to explore their own sexuality to see which one feels “good”
for them; the ‘right’ for a man to marry another man,
or a woman to marry another woman; etc.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST IN YOUR JOB? Reading and sharing the testimonies of men and women who have chosen
to leave the gay, or lesbian lifestyle.
HOW CAN PEOPLE PRAY FOR YOU OR YOUR ORGANIZATION? Prayers are requested for Our Holy Father to heal all
of us - in body, mind, and spirit - who are affected by homosexuality,
that we may ask for forgiveness for our sins, and accept His Divine
Mercy. Pray that everyone will trust in Jesus Christ.
DO YOU HAVE A NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS? Yes. PFOX welcomes all who wish to
participate in the pursuit of knowledge about the causes and treatment
of homosexuality. Since the scientific evidence is clear that homosexuality
is changeable, we need to devote ourselves to teaching the public.

I have been married to my husband, Terry, for 31 years. We have
three children and two grandchildren.
IS THERE A BOOK THAT HAS MADE AN IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE? The
Holy Bible is my favorite book and continues to have a tremendous
impact.
IS THERE A NUGGET YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE? The
vessel needed to obtain God’s Mercy is trust in Jesus Christ.
The more we trust in Him, the bigger our vessel will be to receive
the unfathomable mercy and graces He wants to give to all of us.
