 Up Close and Personal

Introducing - Rosa Davis
of The Gleaning Field Foundation

POSITION: Founder/Director

PHONE: 760-945-7104

LOCATION:  Vista

LENGTH OF SERVICE:  15 years

WHAT DOES THE ORGANIZATION DO? Provide food

packs, hygiene packs, street packs, hot meals, small

amounts of clothing to the homeless, poor and needy.

WHAT ARE YOUR PRIMARY DUTIES? Organize/oversee the team – meals, food distributions, pick ups, outreaches, meetings, delivering some food boxes.

WHAT AREA OF EXPERTISE DO YOU HAVE OR ARE YOU KNOWN? Our expertise, I believe, is in the way we minister with the heart of Christ. I take this literally, “As you did this to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.”

WHERE DO YOU FEEL THE LORD IS LEADING THIS ORGANIZATION?  In training, teaching the body of Christ how to set-up, organize a church storehouse to meet physical needs.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO ACCOMPLISH? To operate a day care program for the poor, homeless and needy, providing physical needs with Biblical counseling and prayer.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST IN YOUR JOB? I truly love all aspects of the ministry, even stocking shelves, but probably my greatest joy is in serving a hot, bountiful meal to the homeless.

WHAT IS FRUSTRATING TO YOU?  That the Body of Christ has not prioritized meeting physical needs of people along with meeting spiritual needs evangelism would be a breeze!

HOW CAN PEOPLE PRAY FOR YOU OR YOUR ORGANIZATION? This is a front line ministry - cover me daily for strength, God’s grace and wisdom, we desperately need a building and finances for rent, etc.  We are a non-profit organization.

DOES YOUR ORGANIZATION HAVE A NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS?   Presently, no, the Benevolent Team at church is adequate.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY: I’m a divorcee, was married for 29 years to a Marine. We have three sons and one daughter. Our oldest son, Ron, is an assistant director at Gleaning Field. We have three granddaugthers.

WHAT IS YOUR HOME CHURCH & YOUR INVOLVEMENT THERE? My home church is West Coast Christian Center (Vista) with Pastors Matt and Amy Stoehr. We are under the covering of my church beautifully accepted I do the Benevolent Ministry, Angel Tree Program, and holiday outreaches.

IS THERE A FAVORITE BOOK THAT HAS MADE AN IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE?  Yes, Rees Howell Intercessor by Norman Grubb.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SCRIPTURE?  Probably, John 3:16, that God loves Rosa so much that He gave His Son to die for me.

IS THERE A “NUGGET” YOU’D LIKE TO SHARE?  Giving is done in many forms not just money – all giving is seed – nothing given is without reward – a cup of water given from the heart will be rewarded!
