Summer Outreaches

There are many of you who are itching to go out and touch someone’s heart! God places the burning desire to share your faith, but the biggest obstacle we tend to face is getting started. It’s not so much the fear of rejection or not knowing where to go -it’s often not knowing where to start.

We see many evangelist’s flowing in the Spirit, and we say to ourselves, “I could never be like that.” We forget than when they first started, they probably faced all the fears you’re facing now. However, they persisted until they mastered their calling. You and I need to do the same thing. There is a natural fear of doing anything we are not used to doing. In order to break those fears we must face them and overcome them.

First of all, always remind yourself you are anointed to share. If you have the Spirit of God within you, you have the command to preach the gospel to those God sends your way. He does not command you to do anything that He does not equip you to do. The anointing is in the Spirit of God, who resides in us. The key to overcoming the fear is simply to start! One of the obstacles we face is knowing how to begin a conversation with a complete stranger. We ask others in our churches to go together to witness, but no one seems to be interested. We attempt to do something on our own, but when we fail to continue, out of frustration we forget the idea.

I’ve seen this happen so many times. I know with me, I also made my own excuses when God was trying to get me out sharing my faith, until one day I stepped out. I told myself I would not allow anyone to distract me, or would not make up any more excuses, so I went. And even though I didn’t know what to do, I led someone to Christ! I got so hooked on the feeling that I continued to go out for years. Even though I didn’t feel like it, or something had come up, I forced myself to go, and God would always meet me there to touch someone’s heart.

Once you experience that feeling of being used of God, you’ll never forget it. You will also be hooked for life. Just get started wherever you can. I would like to give you some dates where you can team up with me this summer if you haven’t connected with any group yet. This time of year is a great opportunity to reach out just about anywhere.

One of my favorite places to go is the beach during the summer time. It has been incredible to me how open the people have been in recent years at the beach. There is such a variety of people that there’s no reason why we couldn’t spend a good part of a day touching someone’s heart. The following dates I plan to be spending at Mission Beach sharing my faith with others. Some dates are tentative because of previous commitments that I’m trying to change, but I would ask for you to call me to confirm with me first if you intend to join me. It would be a blessing to have a couple hundred of you team up with me. I guarantee you will be blessed. On July 18 at about 7 p.m. and July 19 at about 1 p.m. into the evening we will be on the beach sharing our faith. Also, on the on July 25 at Creekside Plaze in Poway we’ll meet. There is a Starbucks there so we can get a cup of coffee and walk around connecting with those God sends to us. We can also have dinner there, if we choose.

If you have an outreach set up where we can come and join you, let me know! If we can be a blessing to your group, and help you grow we will. I will give you the dates for August next month. Plan on joining me as we continue to minister to the lost. Keep in mind, every time you go out it becomes training for you. We all learn from each other and expand in the ministry God has given us.
