Oceanside residents blessed
About 2,500 people were reached in Oceanside on June 28 during
the third annual Summer Explosion 2003 in the parking lot of the Oceanside
Senior Center.
The event is a huge inner-city outreach coordinated by Community
Ambassadors of Oceanside, a ministry of Ambassador Family Church. The afternoon
activities were supported by local government officials and social agencies,
allowing participants to receive free groceries and toiletries, clothing
and shoes, haircuts for all ages, immigration paperwork, employment evaluations
and referrals, as well as hot dogs and drinks.
There was also entertainment for children, including a kid’s
jump, face painting, clowns and games.
Thousands of dollars worth of new toys and prizes were awarded,
including skateboards, scooters, boogie boards, sports equipment and electronics.
A ministry spokesman said there were also 457 salvations.
