Thank
you for Dana Serrano’s article in July, “Just When
Does Life Begin?” I was surprised at the concept of adoption
of frozen embryos. I did not know this was possible or that it
had already been done. What a wonderful thing for genetic parents
to do with “leftover” or “planned-over”
children.
It
saddens me that in the fertility medical practice, more embryos
than are needed must be created just to have enough, but the fact
that they can be carried to birth by adoptive parents is
great news. And, its clear why we do not hear about this
option in the liberal media. But why not from President Bush’s
podium? I would think he would jump at the opportunity to declare
adoption as a desirable option for genetic parents.
Thank
you for your work.

Jesus
Is God

Can
we stop and think for a moment? In a few centuries of spiritual
enlightment, some folks have totally abandoned critical thinking
skills to embrace ludicrous lies about the deity of Jesus Christ.
For
instance, around the 1800s, a new church began teaching Jesus
is “a special angel.” Around the same era, another
new church decided Jesus is the “spiritual brother of Satan.”
Still older religions historically maintain Jesus is a “prophet.”
Excuse me, but don’t people examine concrete historical
and scriptural facts pertaining to Jesus? What ever happened to
individual thinking and critical analysis? What is with the group
thinking? It’s one thing to all believe a red light is a
red light, but if a group breaks off and starts claiming it’s
a green light, someone’s going to get hit by a truck. Hence,
make sure what you believe is true.
Consequently,
over the years attacks on the divine nature of Christ are repeatedly
loosed on non-Bible reading individuals. Why? Because many people
don’t know the truth about Jesus. Ironically, scriptures
clearly illuminate Jesus Christ of the New Testament as God Almighty
of the Old Testament.
Look, you don’t need to be a biblical
scholar to understand Jesus is God. Open a Bible and start reading.
It’s that simple. If that’s not an option, buy a Bible
on tape.
And
find a Bible reading church. Don’t get fooled into thinking
you need additional books to supplement the Bible. You absolutely
don’t. God made it very clear, “All scripture is given
by inspiration of God, and is profitable.”
What
are you waiting for?

Ageless?

Having
been grandparents and born-again Christians in Southern California
for many years; my wife and I have noticed a trend in many of
our churches — a strong orientation toward youth. Next Sunday
in church, do a mental calculation of the average age of the members
of your church praise and worship team. (Don’t be surprised
if it falls in the teens!) Notice the band playing behind them
now — instead of the piano and/or guitar we had in our day.
You know, back when the dinosaurs still roamed the earth.
Now,
I love our youth as much as anyone. But, have you noticed how
cheese gets better with age? Have you noticed that when cheese
is young it is called Mild — but when it is sufficiently
aged, it is called Sharp!
Maybe
we grandparents should start wearing a label — SHARP! —
as in knowledge gained through years of experience; wisdom gained
through having done that before, even if I failed; caring gained
through knowing what the young still have to go through; and Love
because we want to help and guide them through that growth from
Mild to Sharp with as few scars as possible.

President
Bush put Iraqis on front lines instead of on soccer fields and
coffee shops in Baghdad!
President
Bush, I ask you to immediately stop American deployment of troops
attacking Najaf and other centers of Iraqi insurgency. Let the
Iraqis tend to the cleansing of their Mosques and streets. You
are harming American image in Arab lands as Iraqis are celebrating
victory on soccer field in Greece.
It
appears as though in February Iraq was once again eligible to
play in Olympics. So from February to August, about 200 members
of a soccer squad would be trained. Instead of learning soccer
they could have had 6 months of military training and they could
have attacked Najaf instead of US troops.
Celebratory
firing of guns in the streets of Baghdad in joy over soccer feats
when these same guns should have been firing against insurgents?
Allawi has America just where Allawi wants America — the
U.S. to be doing the dirty work and killing Arabs which should
be done by Iraqis.
Iraqis
play soccer as Americans die in Najaf. I say it’s time for
U.S. disengagement and let 23 million Iraqis cleanup 10,000 insurgents.
Every
day the President sends Americans to die for Iraqis he loses more
and more votes.

Dana
Serrano Chisholm’s article, entitled “Just When Does
Life Begin?,” in your July edition was very good. It is
remarkable that in our day so many cannot make the connection
that though the unborn at the earliest stages of life is very,
very small, nonetheless has to be very, very human. They could
not be anything less, otherwise they would never turn into a fetus,
an infant, a teen or a full grown adult. In fact, this shows that
adults owe their existence to the fact that at one time they were
embryos. Full-grown adults do need embryos to perpetuate the human
race! This seems like the obvious, but many miss this point of
the necessity of every stage of development.
Your
article brings out the testimony of the mother which stated that
the mother may provide the home for the child in her womb, but
the child already existed. If they did not, ultimately, nothing
would have come of the adopted embryo Gracie or any of us for
that matter.
God
bless you in your fine work for the unborn,
