The
fifth outdoor festival aimed at encouraging and educating renters
and first-time homebuyers about home ownership and financing opportunities
is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 2 in the HOPE Community Development
Corp. parking lot at Euclid Ave. and Federal Blvd., San Diego. The
site is behind San Diego National Bank, 2 blocks north of Highway
94.
The
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. HOPE CDC Housing Festival, the largest event of
its kind in San Diego County, is expected to attract more than 5,000
people who are eager to learn how they can buy a home. The festival
is presented biannually as a public service by non-profit HOPE (Helping
Our People Economically) CDC. Admission is free. For rental information,

former owner of Agape Christian Book Store in San Marcos, is pastor
of a new church in east Escondido. North County Worship Center meets

The
Rev. Edward Simmons and his wife Mary were recently appointed
missionaries to Thailand. Simmons has served as senior associate
pastor for the last seven years at Revival Tabernacle in San Diego.
Simmons has made numerous trips to southeast Asia and a short-term,
six-month missions trip in 2001. The couple will leave in November
for language school in Bangkok, Thailand. For more information about
