Parents’ Rights
Two important initiatives are in the works at this
time for California voters.
1.
“Civil Rights for Families” that will empower parents to protect
their children from sexual indoctrination.
2.
“Parents’ Right To Know” which will protect
girls under the age of 18 from abortion. Information was released regarding the
Civil Rights for Families that stated: “Thousands of Californians have
been signing the official petition to place on the June 2006 California ballot.
Thank you to those who signed the ‘Civil Rights for Families’
petition, which Campaign for California Families has been supporting. Visit
www.savecalifornia.com. The six million children in California public schools
absolutely need protection from homosexual activists who are targeting their
hearts and minds.”
Every
year, several good initiatives attempt to qualify for the ballot. Nearly all
fail. Others are resubmitted to start over with more time to collect
signatures. Only a few make it to the ballot. Consider that the last openly
pro-family initiative we voted on was Proposition 22 in 2000.
With
this in mind, I need to tell you some good news and some bad news. First the
good news. I believe we will someday pass a ballot proposition to protect
parental rights in California. And I believe “Civil Rights for
Families” led by Tony Andrade and Art Croney may well be that historic
measure. Now the bad news. The first attempt to gather signatures is going to
fall short of the goal of gathering the necessary 450,000 signatures. Andrade and
Croney have realized this, and are operating in wisdom by resubmitting the
measure with changes. This will start a “new clock” allowing them
to collect signatures with more time and resources. This also means the
signatures collected thus far on petitions from CCF or other organizations will
not count. We will all need to sign again when the new petition is available.
Please stay tuned for the second attempt of the “Civil Rights for
Families” initiative.” At the same time the Parents’ Right to
Know has two efforts underway — one is still forming and one is beginning
their efforts at signature gathering. (See insert in newspaper.)
The
Parents Right to Know initiative will require an abortionist to contact at
least one of the parents or the guardian of an under-18-year-old girl at least
48 hours before aborting the girl’s baby.
In
those states where there is Parental Notification, many lives have been saved.
If you help, we can finally do the same in California.
The
initiative needs 598,105 valid signatures to qualify for the next California
election.
We
need you today! We need you to collect as many valid signatures as soon as
possible.
All
of these efforts are so important, as we saw in this last election that our
state ended up “blue.” Get involved at every level to take back our
state! Your church has the legal right to let you collect signatures on church
grounds. For an authoritative legal opinion on your church’s right, go to
